
A snow covered road and not driving at a safe speed was the cause of an accident that happened last Friday morning in Banks Township of Indiana County.
Pennsylvania State Police in Punxsutawney say 34 year old Zachery Gaboury of Arcadia was traveling west on Johnsonburg Road and lost control of his van while going around a curve near Pollock Road. According to police he slid off the north berm and hit a guide rail, a mail box and a utility pole, causing disabling damage.
Gaboury was not injured, but his vehicle had to be towed from the scene.

Another crash was reported from this past Friday morning due to the weather, this one was in Oliver Township of Jefferson County.
It was around 10:30 on Route 36 near Ishman Lane when a driver attempted to make a right hand turn at the intersection into a retail store. The driver lost control, traveled across the entrance and hit a road sign over an embankment.
No injuries were reported and the driver’s name was not in the police report.

On Sunday night a tractor trailer was involved in an accident on Interstate 80 in Township and County of Clarion.
The crash occurred as 26 year old Jose Echavarria-Diaz from the Bronx in New York was traveling west bound when he went off the left side of the roadway and hit an embankment near the Strattanville exit. Police say he ricocheted off a rock and slid forward before coming to a rest partially on the road.
Clarion EMS transported Echavarria-Diaz to Clarion Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and he was charged for not driving at a safe speed.
