A married couple living along Penn Street in Porter Township notified Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion of a phone scam with an Illinois area code.
According to authorities, on December 8 around noon the husband and wife received a phone call from a man who was trying to convince them their grandson was in jail and need 10 percent of $2,200 to get him out. They weren’t scammed out of any money because they felt something wasn’t right and hung up.

A man driving in Elk Township last week was pulled over for several traffic violations was allegedly driving under the influence.
Authorities say around 10:30 in the morning on December 11th, a 51 year old man from Clarion was traveling on Route 208 when Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion arrested him for DUI and drug paraphernalia.

This past Saturday a man from Sligo was arrested for possession of drugs in Paint Township of Clarion County.
Around 3:30 in the afternoon the Pennsylvania State Police in Clarion investigated an incident on Paint Boulevard where they found a 53 year old suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
