An open door at a church in Jefferson County lead to the arrest of two people who were wanted on warrants.
The Brookville Borough Police say the incident happened yesterday morning just before 8, when a secretary at a church noticed an open door and called the police. When officers searched the building they found a 27 year old man and a 36 year old woman who were sleeping in a storage room. The couple was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and related items.
A background check revealed the two had arrest warrants from the Punxsutawney Police Department for burglary and related offenses.
Both are on parole and probation. The unnamed suspects were then charged with burglary, criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were taken to the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail. Charges were filed through Magistrate Bazylak’s office.
