There was a fatal single-vehicle accident yesterday in Rose Township of Jefferson County.
According to The Punxsutawney Spirit, the crash occurred around 11 in the morning on Route 36 when the only occupant, 77 year old Robert Eugene Steel of Punxsutawney, was traveling south and failed to make a left hand curve ultimately going off the the eastern berm, where the vehicle over turned.
The published report said Steel was ejected from the Caravan and was pounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner Brenda Shumaker.
