Yesterday, two people who were seriously injured in an accident had to be flown to hospital in Pittsburgh.
Pennsylvania State Police in Marienville say the crash occurred around 12:15 pm when 59 year old Daniel Schnur of Butler was driving south on State Route 899 toward its intersection with Old Bridge Road when he lost control while going around a curve. Schnur left the berm, hit a curb and, according to police, overturned a number of times and hit several small trees before coming to a rest.
Schnur and his passenger, 61 year old Ruth Schnur, also of Butler, had to be flown by Stat MedEvac to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Sigel VFD assisted at the scene, and the vehicle had to be towed.
Schnur was charged for not driving at a safe speed.
