A bear was to blame for an accident that happened on Saturday night in Jenks Township of Forest County.
Police say 22 year old Danielle Taylor of Kane was traveling north on Route 66 near its intersection with Schrecengost Road when a bear entered from the east berm. Taylor swerved to avoid hitting the bear; however, she lost control of her vehicle and hit a utility pole where her vehicle came to a rest.
Taylor had minor injuries but was not transported. Marienville VFD and Clarion EMS assisted the Pennsylvania State Police in Marienville. Taylor was not charged, but her car had to be towed from the scene.

A deer was the cause of an accident that happened on Friday in Bell Township of Jefferson County.
The crash happened around 6 pm on Route 119 near Jefferson Machine when 72 year old Linda Miller of Punxsutawney was driving north and a deer ran onto the roadway. Miller hit the deer, causing disabling damage to her vehicle. She pulled off to the east side of the roadway and came to a final rest. The deer came to a rest on the west side of 119.
Miller was not injured, but her car had to be towed. Pennsylvania State Police Punxsutawney cited her for not having the required financial responsibility.
