We have an update of an accident that happened last month in Gaskill Township of Jefferson County.
As we reported based on a police report from the Pennsylvania State Police in Punxsutawney, on August 30th around 6:30 pm, 54 year old Phillip Young of Mahaffey was driving his motorized bicycle on Route 36 on the Colonel Drake Highway, a half of mile north of Tipple Road. For unknown reasons he fell onto the roadway and had moderate injuries to his head and face.
Young was transported by Jefferson County EMS to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment. Big Run VFD assisted at the scene.
The crash investigation revealed that Young was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and, according to the Pennsylvania State Police, charges will be filed in the District Court, pending BAC testing/results.
