Charges of animal cruelty are anticipated against the owner of six horses in Eastern Armstrong County Borough.
The Indiana Gazette reports the investigation began based on information provided by concerned citizens, which lead to the horses being seized and taken to three different sanctuaries due to their condition of emaciation, rain rot and neglect of hooves.
The owner’s name was not in the published report; however, the Armstrong County District Attorney Katie Charlton said, her office takes animal cruelty investigations “very seriously… and will prosecute to the fullest extent permitted under the law.”
