A deer was part of the cause of an accident that happened last week in Red Bank Township of Clarion County.
Police say just after midnight on August 30th 27 year old Michael Hurrelbrink of Knox was traveling north on Route 66 by Champion Road near Bluetown Woods when a deer walked out onto the roadway. He swerved to the right to miss the deer; however, he drove his vehicle into an embankment, causing heavy damage to the front end before coming to a rest back onto the northbound lane facing west.
His passenger, 31 year old Samantha Korona, also of Knox, was not wearing her seat belt and was transported to Clarion Hospital’s ER by Southern Regional Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.
Hurrelbrink and the other passengers, a 2 year boy and a 5 year old girl, were not injured. New Bethlehem VFD assisted at the scene and Hurrelbrink was charged for a traffic violation.
