Old and new technology merge for Jefferson County voters this fall…
According to the Jeffersonian Democrat, the Jefferson County Commissioners agreed to pay almost $600,000 to Dominion Voting Systems Inc., for the new election equipment which combines the paper ballot and scanning technology to count each vote. The published report says Commissioner Jack Matson wants to have a unit in each library so voters can become familiar with the method by the November 5 election.
