The Punxsutawney Borough Police filed criminal charges of Harassment and Simple Assault against 41 year old James Painter, and according to ExploreJeffersonPA.com, that was for an incident that was reported on August 8 on Cherry Street in Punxsutawney where he allegedly pushed a woman onto concrete stairs injuring her leg. The published report says after Painter was arrested, officers found in his possession a syringe and a spoon plus a crystal substance, suspected to be methamphetamine, and additional charges of Contraband, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were filed.
Painter’s preliminary hearing is set for August 20.
