Contract negotiations resume today between the State System of Higher Education and APCUF, the faculty union at the fourteen state-owned universities..
They last met for five consecutive days last month just before the expiration of the last negotiated deal. Faculty members remain on the job under the terms of the expired contract, as prescribed by state law. Both the faculty and coaches contracts expired June 30th. The plan is for faculty “interest-based bargaining” to take place today and tomorrow in Harrisburg, and again next Monday and Tuesday.
The next talks for a new coaches’ contract are scheduled for August 5th and 6th. Neither side will comment publicly about the issues.
