There were heated moments at the Punxsutawney Borough Council Meeting last night…
Council President Lawrence Chenoga opened by offering an apology the Chief of Police Matt Conrad and to Mayor Richard Alexander over comments he regretted making during the Groundhog Festival.
Roger Steel, of Groundhog Festival Inc, who, by contract has authority of festival activities in the park, requested to handle the festival next year and expressed displeasure over the sidewalk sales and vendors. Council member Michelle Lorenzo declared it should be equal to all vendors involved, and expressed that other offers should be welcomed to run next years festival.
