The Chief of the Corsica Fire Department requested the assistance from a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal in determining the origin and cause of a fire that happened on June 26th just after 1 in the morning, on Main Street in Corsica.
Two occupants, both 52 two year old women, and four dogs were home at the time of the fire and managed to escape without injury; however, several other pets died according to the PSP in Punxsutawney. Two vehicles and a neighboring home were also damaged. The estimated loss is expected to exceed $140,000.
The investigation will continue.
