A man from Indiana was arrested on Wednesday evening after he was charged with several felony sex offenses involving a male juvenile victim.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, 51 year old Stephen Joe Czerniec was taken into custody without incident and charged with statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and 10 counts of sexual abuse of children.
Czerniec didn’t post the $2,500 monetary bail and sits in the Jefferson County Jail until his preliminary hearing on July 3. The police report says on June 16 Pennsylvania State Police Troop A Indiana Criminal investigations Unit began an investigation into a reported sexual assault. After conducting interviews, reviewing an electronic device, video surveillance and serving a search warrant, it was determined Pennsylvania State Police had strong enough evidence to arrest and charge Czerniec.
