A commercial vehicle overturned to avoid hitting another truck on I 80.
The Pennsylvania State Police in DuBois say the crash happened on Wednesday around 5:30 in the evening when a freight liner driven by 66 year old Varkis Avanesian of New Jersey made an unsafe merge onto I 80 west near mile marker 88 from the stop sign at the rest area’s ramp.
According to the State Police, he pulled out in front of another freight-liner driven by 22 year old Rodion Topchii of Washington, who veered off the roadway to avoid the collision but overturned his truck.
Everybody was wearing seat belts, Topchii was slightly injured and refused medical treatment. Avanesian was cited for failing to obey traffic signs.
