The Punxsutawney Borough Council held their meeting last evening and voted not to grant a liquor license to a convenience store in Punxsutaweny.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, the attorney representing the 24/7 chain pointed out most of their stores sell alcohol products and they would upgrade the current location with additional seating and a beer cave; however, local owners of establishments who sell alcohol suggested logistic problems with parking and with no traffic light near the store, more congestion could become a major problem.
The published report says the council denied the transfer of the liquor license from Brockway to Punxsutawney unanimously, 6-0.
