The Punxsutawney Borough Police requested assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police in Punxsutawney to find a suspect who fled the scene of a crash earlier.
On Friday May 31 just before 6 pm on North Findley Street Troopers noticed a man who matched the description of the suspect getting into the passenger side of a car driven by a woman. Pennsylvania State Police imitated a traffic stop of the vehicle and found the 29 year old passenger was the person the Borough Police were looking for; while, the driver a 34 year old woman also from Punxsutawney allegedly showed signs of drug impairment.
Following a field sobriety test she was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI. Troopers seized five clear capsules containing an unknown white powder from her purse. The investigation is ongoing.
