The Pennsylvania Department of Health has released the numbers on the 2018-19 flu season in the state.
There were nearly 98,500 reported cases of the flu in PA during the 2018-19 flu season. 157 state residents died from the flu, including two children.
Secretary of Health, Dr. Rachel Levine, says the length of the flu season was significant, with more than 2,000 cases reported each week in the state from late December through mid-April.
Dr. Levine says the flu vaccine appears to have been a good match for the flu strains that were out there.
