The Pennsylvania Department of Education has awarded the Punxsutawney Area School District a targeted Safe Schools Equipment Grant totaling close to $20,000.
According to State Representative Cris Dush, who serves the 66th Legislative District, the funding can be used for security technology and other security-related needs.
Dush says they are not going to mandate how the money is spent because what works for one district may not work for another.
