A man from Plumville will be sentenced in Indiana County today.
56-year-old Robert E. Adams admitted guilt to misdemeanor indecent assault without the consent of the victim in a case in which he was originally charged with two felony counts of incest, a second misdemeanor count of indecent assault, and rape by forcible compulsion.
The rape charge was dismissed at the lower court, and he will not be prosecuted for the other offenses.
The charges were filed last September for incidents dated the month before.
After a Megan’s Law evaluation, District Attorney Pat Dougherty will ask that Adams be designated a sexually violent predator. A hearing on that request will be held today by Judge William Martin prior to sentencing.
