Indiana Street is closed in Punxsutawney.
Last night at the Punxsutawney Borough Council meeting, the motion carried unanimously to shut down Indiana Street while the detour is in place. Emergency vehicles and residence are the only ones allowed access without permission. All others must follow the detour: Route 119 to Route 436 to Route 36 and back onto Route 119.
The PennDOT project is expected to be finished toward the end of July.
The council also approved the application for the flood mitigation grant for the levee.
