The State Police in Marienville are investigating a case of animal cruelty that happened last month in Forest County.
On April 5 around 9:30 pm, two 17 year old male juveniles were traveling south on Route 36 in Tylersburg, when the driver inadvertently hit a cat on the road way. Investigators say the cat was injured but still alive when one of the juveniles aggressively threw the cat into the bed of the pick up truck and drove to a location in Marienville along Route 66 and aggressively threw the cat against the wall of a wooden garage.
The cat was taken into the garage where it was beaten and tortured with a metal maul to death, all while being video recorded by the other juvenile.
The investigation is ongoing with charges pending.
