Non-public schools in Pennsylvania are asking for state lawmakers’ help in covering the cost of school security measures.
Students and staff at private and parochial schools recently expressed their concerns about the need to cover security costs during a rally at the Capitol. They want to be included in the $60 million School Safety and Security Grant program.
Senator Andrew Dinniman agrees officials at Jewish schools are especially concerned following last fall’s massacre at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh and a recent shooting at a synagogue near San Diego.
