The price for a gallon of regular gas in Pennsylvania has topped the $3 mark.
According to Gasbuddy.com as of this morning, the average price of a gallon of gas in Jefferson is $3.15 a gallon, Clearfield County is averaging $3.01, while Indiana County is at $3.03 a gallon. At $3.05 a gallon, the average price of regular gas in PA is up about 25 cents since the beginning of the month.
As for what’s driving gas prices up, Triple-A Mid-Atlantic spokesperson Kathleen Zinszer says increased demand for gas and decreased crude supplies are also contributing to the jump in pump prices. Gas prices are expected to continue to increase over the next few weeks. Zinszer says gas prices peaked last year right before Memorial Day.
