Two freight liners and a car were involved in an accident on I 80 near mile marker 79.
The Pennsylvania State Police in DuBois say the three-vehicle crash happened on Monday around 3:30 in the afternoon when a freight liner driven by 60 year old Ray Knepp of Pleasant Gap was traveling east on I 80 in the left lane as another tractor trailer in front of him, operated by 32 year old Vasyl Mahaliuk of Portland, Oregon, was slowing down due to construction backlog. 21 year old Joseph Payne, the driver of a car, was attempting to pass the second truck to enter the lane. The driver of the first truck, Knepp, was allegedly following too closely, was unable to slow down and hit Mahaliuk in the rear, causing his trailer to hit the car driven by Payne.
Nobody was injured. Vehicles had minor damage, and Knepp was cited for driving too closely to another vehicle.
