A 52 year old man from Punxsutawney was arrested for driving under the influence on Saturday night before 11 pm.
State Police in Punxsutawney initiated a traffic stop on Route 36 on North Main Street in Young Township for a vehicle that had its passenger headlight out. After making contact, the troopers noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside with other clues of possible drug impairment. Authorities administered a field sobriety check where the driver indicated numerous signs of impairment and was placed under arrest of suspicion of DUI and transported to the Punxsutawney Hospital.
The investigation continues.
