
Indiana Borough Police are investigating an accidental discharge of a firearm that happened yesterday morning near the IUP Campus.
According to an announcement sent out by IUP, the firearm went off in the 900 block of Wayne Avenue around 7:00 this morning. Indiana Borough Police Chief Justin Schawl said that they are still investigating the shooting, and the man who accidentally fired the shot is being treated by medical personnel.
Police believe that the incident was isolated and accidental.

The Indiana State Police say the incident happened before 6 p.m. On Saturday when the owner of a 1978 Pontiac Grand AM saw an unknown person smash the windows and fled the scene along Cookport Road. Any helpful info call is appreciated at 724 357 1960.

Charges filed back in December against a man from Indiana after a domestic dispute have been dismissed.
The Indiana Gazette reports the charges of strangulation, corruption of minors, simple assault and harassment have been dismissed against 22 year old Wesley Guzman by MDJ Haberl at a preliminary hearing on March 13.
