Brookville Council last night approved a change in zoning. The area where South Pickering, Race and Mabon Street meet will be re-zoned from residential to commercial. The area includes Dirty Ehrma’s and Buffs. A property owner plans to open an antique shop there.
Plans are also confirmed to provide residents with free heavy duty bags to dispose of extra household garbage as part of the Keep America Beautiful campaign. The bags will be available from 7 am to 4:30 pm on Friday, April 19 at the Town Square on Main St. Advantage and Wolf disposal, the borough’s two contracted waste haulers, have agreed to pick up the extra garage curbside at no extra charge.
Council approved advertising for lifeguards to work at the Walter Dick Park this summer. They’ll also be looking for a new police secretary, pending the current secretary’s planned resignation.
Free parking was also approved on Main Street on Friday, June 21 during Laurel Week as part of the annual sidewalk sale.
