State police have released their own stats on the unsanctioned IUPatty’s event and while the number of criminal arrests went down radically, the number of traffic incidents went up.
Troopers say between March 21st and 24th, they investigated more than 500 traffic incidents. Almost 400 traffic citations were written during that time, with 99 written warnings handed out. 17 DUI arrests were made during IUPatty’s weekend, and troopers responded to four calls for motorist help and investigated three crashes. As far as criminal arrests go, the number decreased significantly.
This year, troopers made 43 arrests, while last year, troopers made 145 arrests. This year, the highest number of arrests was in the underage drinking category at 20.
