
A former physician has pleaded guilty to health care fraud.
According to WTAJ News, David Girardi of DuBois plead guilty this past Tuesday by admitting he submitted claims to Highmark for Oxycodone and Hydrocodone prescriptions he wrote for his wife, but they were intended for his own use.
Girardi, formerly a physician at Brookville Hospital, is facing a total of 10 years in jail, a $250,000 fine, or both. Sentencing will be August 5.
