Last night, the Punxsutawney Borough Council voted to demolish a house on Penn Street.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, the solicitor presented findings from a public hearing about the blighted property at 399 South Penn Street and facts associated with the property. The published report says, the house has been abandoned for seven years, attempts to locate the owners have not been successful, and the structure is consider to be unsafe.
According to the Basic Property Maintenance Code the borough manager will use proper methods to have the structure demolished.
