A driver fell asleep and hit a utility pole while on Route 322.
According to authorities, the accident happened when 62 year old Russell Matthews from Stump Creek fell asleep while he was driving on Route 322, west of Bee Lane in Pine Creek Township in Jefferson County. State Police in Punxsutawney say Matthews hit a utility pole before coming to a stop on private property.
The incident happened on Friday around 3 pm, Matthews was not injured. He was wearing his seat belt and cited for careless driving.
