A deer was the cause of a singe-car accident on Saturday in Oliver Township.
Authorities say 46 year old Christopher McCracken of Brookville was driving south on Route 36 near the intersection of Laurel Ridge Road in Oliver Township, Jefferson County at 6:30 pm when a deer suddenly came onto the road. According to the Punxsutawney State Police, McCracken was unable to avoid the collision and hit the deer with his vehicle.
McCracken and his passenger 51 year old Laura Chikar of Meadville were wearing their seat belts and were not injured. No citations were issued.
