
A woman from Clarion who attempted to smuggled suboxone into the Clarion County Jail was sentenced to up to four years in state prison.
ExploreClarion.com reports, on Wednesday, Judge James Arner sentenced 37-year-old Rebecca Phillips of Clarion up to four years in state prison on one second-degree felony count of contraband/controlled substance.
The published report says, Phillips pleaded guilty on January 9, 2019.

A man who is accused of attempting to buy a teen in an undercover sex trafficking sting has a hearing this Thursday.
ExploreJefferson.com reports a preliminary hearing for 45-year-old David Bereznak of Ebervale, Luzerne County is scheduled for this Thursday in Gregory M. Bazylak’s office.
According to the published report, Bereznak is facing eight charges, including trafficking in minors, criminal solicitation, unlawful contact with minor and five other charges.
He is in the Jefferson County Jail on $100,000.00 bail.

A Mahaffey Man was sentenced on Friday in Indiana County Court.
According to court documents, 26-year-old Andrew Barto of Mahaffey pleaded guilty to indecent assault of an unconscious victim for an incident in March of last year in Indiana Borough. On Friday, Barto was ordered to serve nine months to two years in state prison, followed by three years of probation. He is also subject to Megan’s Law notification and must submit to a DNA sample draw, undergo drug and alcohol treatment, and if deemed necessary, undergo drug and alcohol and/or a mental health evaluation and treatment.
Barto must also pay $1,889 in fines and court costs, and may have no contact with his victims.
