
Last evening around 8 o’clock, Punxsutawney State Police were called to the scene of a crash that occurred on Route 536 near Saint John’s Road in Perry Twp, Jefferson County.
Troopers say there was one vehicle that hit a guide rail, went off the roadway and then over an embankment. According to the State Police, the driver of the vehicle was not there; however, a witness arrived on scene and provided investigators information about the drivers identity and address. Authorities went to the location and arrested the 33 year old man from Punxsutawney for suspicion of DUI and and took him to the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for a blood draw.
The investigation is ongoing.
