Cooper Allen of New Bethlehem arrested on Tuesday for his involvement in the stealing a dirt bike.
Reports say New Bethlehem Borough was contacted September 19th that a dirt bike had been stolen from his Penn Street garage. The victim said he got up in the morning and the bike was gone. Video surveillance showed Allen entering the garage. Police went to Allen’s residence, noticed a fresh dirt bike path, but Allen denied any involvement. On the 24th, Allen told police he knew where the bike was being kept. He said he met a man who told him he knew where they could get a dirt bike, because the man needed money. Allen said he and the man took the bike and pushed it to his place before leaving it in a field. The bike was retrieved and returned to the owner.
Allen was charged and lodged in the Clarion County Jail. He has a preliminary hearing on October 16th. At this time, no charges have been filed against the second man, and the investigation is continuing.
