Clark first gained national prominence in 1956 when he took the reins of a popular Teenage show on WFIL-TV called "Bandstand", which he would help take to ABC TV coast-to-Coast. He was able to be the matured and calm voice of the Rock and Roll generation and the music it put out, and made stars out of Fabian, Andy Williams in the early days, The Jacksons in the 70s, and a lot of artists that you hear on our station today. Of course, Clark could connect very well with the Teenage Audience that he was trying to reach with American Bandstand, as he frequently discussed the latest trends, dances and music with them. Back: "I'm in the seventh grade and got three F's. Blow your horn if there's something wrong with that."
